Background
Pakistan WAPDA Foundation (PWF) runs various projects aimed at the welfare of retired employees and families of deceased employees of WAPDA, Distribution Companies (DISCOs), Generation Companies (GENCOs) and the National Grid Company (NGC). As part of its ongoing efforts to improve organizational efficiency, the Foundation is seeking a dynamic, capable individual to oversee operations at its Power Transformers Engineering Services Unit (PTESU).
Position Details
- Position: Deputy Manager (Tech), Power Transformers Engineering Services Unit (PTESU)
- Pay Scale: BPS-18
- Organization: Pakistan WAPDA Foundation (PWF)
- Tenure: Contract basis, initially for one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance, up to a maximum of 3 years or until the age of 65, whichever occurs first

Eligibility Criteria
Qualification: B.Sc (Electrical Engineering) from an HEC-recognized university
Age/Eligibility: Maximum 62 years; must be a retired WAPDA, DISCOs or NGC employee with a good service record

Experience: Five (5) years of experience as Deputy Manager in BPS-18 or an equivalent position in the electrical setup; preference will be given to candidates with Power Transformers experience
General Requirements
Candidates should be result-oriented, highly organized and motivated, with excellent analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Prudent decision-making ability and strong skills in maintaining good relationships and liaison with clients are also required.
Areas of Responsibility
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervision of repairing Power Transformers of all different capacities
- Ensuring quality repair of Power Transformers of different capacities
- Control of Regeneration/Dehydration Plants
- Control/management of the main store of PTESU
- Inspection of material required for Power Transformer repairs
- Monitoring billings/recoveries regarding repair of transformers of different capacities from various DISCOs and other organizations
- Suggesting measures to improve the quality of transformer repairs at PWF
- Responsibility for the disposal of dismantled material
