28 Bottled Water Brands Declared Unsafe for Human Consumption by PCRWR

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) has declared 28 bottled water brands unsafe for human consumption due to microbiological and chemical contamination. The findings were based on an extensive study conducted across Pakistan.

PCRWR Report on Unsafe Bottled Water Brands

PCRWR collected 176 samples of bottled water brands from 20 cities in Pakistan. A detailed analysis compared these samples with the Pakistan Standards & Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) standards for bottled water quality. The results revealed that 28 brands contained unsafe levels of contaminants, posing serious health risks to consumers.
