SENATE CLIMATE CHANGE BODY TO GET Preparation On Monsoon Rain
ISLAMABAD: Senate standing panel on climate change has chosen to bring authorities of the NDMA, Government Flood Commission and Met authorities, ARY News covered Tuesday.
Senator Sherry Rehman led the Senate panel on climate change to investigate arrangements with respect to storm season.
Sherry Rehman said that the storm downpours caught to be harming in this season. “No country could handle the super flood,” PPP senator said.
Concerned establishments’ authorities will be called to get data, she said. “We should be cautious considering the decimation caused by 2022 super flood,” Senator Rehman said.
“We need to see what arrangements have been made by the establishments to keep misfortunes at least level,” she further said. Widespread heatwaves have caused misfortunes to crops and the domesticated animals, she added.
She said that the United Nations going to remember Pakistan for 2025 in the classification of the countries having water lack.
“Our icy masses are quickly liquefying, the country faces scores of issues brought about by the climate change,” she said. “Climate change has been the second serious issue after the economy,” she added.
