Karachi: The 2nd International Food & Agriculture Exhibition began at the Expo Center of Karachi city, on August 9, 2024, showcasing Pakistan’s agricultural products, flavorous foods and fruits with aim of enhancing international collaboration in food production and trade.
The Exhibition was inaugurated by Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. He addressed the ceremony, and visited various stalls at the 2nd International Food & Agriculture Exhibition.
“Nothing will happen without concrete actions and effective implementation. This year our increase in agricultural products was $3 billion and let’s fix this target to $7 billion for this year”, said Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif while addressing opening ceremony of expo.
In his inaugural address at expo, PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of agriculture in Pakistan’s economy, highlighting the sector’s role in ensuring food security and driving economic growth.
“Pakistan’s agriculture sector is the backbone of our economy. It not only feeds our nation but also contributes significantly to our exports. This exhibition is a testament to our commitment to modernizing agriculture, adopting sustainable practices, and integrating with global markets,” the Prime Minister said.
He expressed his optimism that the exhibition would lead to fruitful collaborations between Pakistani and international companies, paving the way for innovation and increased productivity in the sector.
The exhibition features a diverse range of products, technologies, and services, with participants including farmers, agribusinesses, food processors, and technology providers. It also includes seminars and workshops on topics such as sustainable farming practices, food security, and the use of technology in agriculture.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation of representatives from international companies operating in Pakistan. This meeting was aimed at strengthening ties with global businesses and exploring avenues for further investment in the country.
During the meeting, PM held discussions on a wide range of topics, including the business environment in Pakistan, opportunities for investment in various sectors, and the government’s efforts to create a more investor-friendly climate.
The Prime Minister reassured international investors of Pakistan’s commitment to economic stability, policy continuity, and the protection of foreign investments.

It is the first showcase of Pakistan’s Food and Agriculture, with involvement of International Buyers from around the world. It aims to foster International collaboration and business opportunities.
