Islamabad:A meeting of the Asian Parliamentarians Forum on Population and Development held here on Thursday with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council issued the Islamabad Declaration.
As part of the declaration, Japanese minister of state on education, culture, science and technology Toshiko Abe San said her country was committed to funding three climate change-related projects in Pakistan. The minister also pledged to assist Pakistan in securing financial support from the World Bank to address climate change-related disasters. The Forum expressed its readiness to offer Pakistan a seat on its Executive Council, a gesture that reflects SIFC’s ongoing efforts to enhance Pakistan’s global profile.
