The Punjab government has planned to provide city-style facilities to the people in the villages, it has decided to start the village shine program in the villages of Punjab.

An integrated system of clean drinking water supply and sanitation will be created in the villages, the Punjab government says that basic facilities will be provided to the people in the villages at their doorsteps.

People of the village will not have to go far for birth, death certificate, marriage and divorce registration.

A committee consisting of local dignitaries will be formed for the improvement of the condition of the village and the authority to form the committee will be vested in the concerned Assistant Commissioner.
