#ISLAMABAD: The #UnitedArabEmirates (UAE) Ambassador to #Pakistan Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi has stressed the need to focus on economic development and conservation of environment.
He said that the #UAE will focus at #COP28, to be hosted by his country, on ensuring inclusive sustainable progress that protects communities most impacted by climate change, and appealed the civil society to play its role in driving “#Climate Action” across key sectors to reduce emissions and build resilience. The #UAE will focus on building bridges to advance international efforts that will support the Global South and countries that are most vulnerable to climate change such as Pakistan and finding practical solutions that ensure energy security while reducing emissions.
Al Zaabi was addressing the 10km Eco-Friendly Marathon that it organised at the Constitution Avenue to highlight the importance of Mainstreaming Sustainable Development and #ClimateResilience for Collective Action on Saturday. The marathon was held in coordination with the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme. A large number of athletes of different nationalities, officials, ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic community participated in the 10 km run. Ambassador Al Zaabi said that the marathon and remarkable participation reflects the partnership, and shared values between the two brotherly countries.
