USA, Pakistan to Strengthen Green Alliance Partnership for Climate Resilience

Islamabad: Top diplomats of Pakistan and US have pledged and agreed to foster bilateral cooperation in diverse fields especially in energy and climate change, trade, technology, agriculture.

This was stated after a meeting of Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, who called on US Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and Environment, Jose W. Fernandez, at US Department of State in Washington on Tuesday.

In his tweet US Under Secretary Fernandez stated that they discussed strengthening US-Pak economic partnership and climate resilience via U.S.-Pakistan Green Alliance and investment in technology sector. He said that he looks forward to working together on mutually beneficial priorities.

Meanwhile, the ambassador Masood Khan, in his tweet stated that together- Pakistan and the US – will work to take our cooperation in trade, technology, agriculture, energy and climate resilience to a higher plane.

He also expressed the hope to attract more foreign direct investment (FDI) from the US for Pakistan.

The U.S. is one of the largest donors to Pakistan, providing more than $200 million in humanitarian and development assistance since 2022’s catastrophic floods. The United States continues to stand with the people of Pakistan as they recover from the impacts of the historic floods.
