Sweden to Host 2023 WORLD WATER WEEK to Accelerate Water Action

Islamabad:  WORLD WATER WEEK, an inclusive meeting place to foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and accelerate water action, will be held from 20 – 24 August 2023, both Online and offline modes in #Stockholm, #Sweden.

Theme of 2023 WORLD WATER WEEK is “Seeds of Change: Innovative Solutions for a Water-Wise World”.

If water solutions are to be sustainable, it’s crucial that all voices are heard and valued. A more inclusive World Water Week is better placed to capture the bigger picture and provide a wider range of thoughts, reflections and ideas. In 2023, online participation is free.

2023 WORLD WATER WEEK will be held in collaboration of United Nations #Environment Programme (UNEP), leading global authority on the environment.  UNEP’s mission is to inspire, inform, and enable nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.

UNEP will organize side events along the major events on water affairs.

  • Sunday 20 August, 4.00-5.30pm Voices from the field: source-to-sea stories from around the world
  • Wednesday 23 August, 9.30-10.00 Scaling up solutions for sustainable wastewater and nutrient management
  • Wednesday 23 August, 11.00-11.40 From sick water to rich water: enhancing #sustainable wastewater management
  • Wednesday 23 August, 11.00-12.30 Water: the source of future social sustainability
  • Thursday 24 August, 9.00-10.30, Catalysing local water management action from global early warning systems
  • Thursday 24 August, 11.00-12.30, Wastewater monitoring and surveillance for sound public.

The major topics and major themes of this global gathering focus on important water issues in the region of Latin America, Asia, and also explore the impacts of climate change, water and sanitation issues, and other crucial water topics across Africa. The “Africa Focus Days” programme is developed by the African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW).

  • The scholars and participants will share water knowledge, and water community will raise their voices on water crisis during the 2013 WORLD WATER WEEK kick starting interesting debates hottest water topics.
