MESHA to Award Grants to Journalists to Attend COP28 Conference in Dubai, UAE
To qualify for grants, Journalists from Africa should have at least two years’ experience in reporting on climate change issues.
Islamabad: The Media for Environment Science Health and Agriculture (MESHA), a communication platform, has announced to award grants to journalists interested to attend the 28th U.N. Climate Change Conference of the Parties #COP28 to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Nov. 30 to Dec. 10, 2023.
To qualify for grants, Journalists from Africa should at least two years’ experience reporting on climate change issues.
According to IJET, some thirteen journalists will receive grants. Of these, eight will travel to Dubai, while the remaining five will provide virtual coverage of the event from their home countries.
For journalists traveling to Dubai, MESHA will cover a non-refundable economy-class air ticket, accommodation, visa expenses, meals, travel insurance, and transportation costs.
To apply, applicants must submit a letter explaining their experience covering climate change and their motivation to cover COP28, five work samples and a letter from their editor. Email applications to info@meshascience.org.
