Green CPEC : International Conference to Explore Development Progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor
Researchers and experts from across the country are invited in two-days international conference to explore the transformative dimensions of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
CPEC Secretariat at Ministry of Planning, development & special initiatives in Collaboration with the Embassy of China in Pakistan and Higher Education Commission (HEC) are organizing an International Conference on, “Decade of CPEC & BRI: From Vision to Reality” on 10th-11th July 2023 in Islamabad.
The objective is to bring back policy makers, scholars, practitioners and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and insights related to economic, social, environmental and geopolitical impacts of CPEC and BRI.
Moreover, the participants will explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation sustainable development and inclusive growth in the subsequent phase of CPEC.
Themes and topics of research papers include opportunities for Industrial Relocation and Export Promotion, challenges to regional connectivity and integration, Socio-economic impacts of CPEC, prospects of regional connectivity through Gwadar port, Security and geopolitical implications, green technologies and development, Artificial Intelligence and labor market dynamics, innovation, technology transfer and global value chain, Agri- innovation for food security, prospects for third party participation in CPEC, potential growth sectors and green skills for human resource development.
According to the official notification, all accepted and presented abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book, while selected papers will be published in the special issues of Pakistan development review (PDR) and Pakistan Journal of Applied Economics (PJAE) after blind peer review and approval of scientific committee.
The follow-up activities will include policy dialogues, research collaborations, business matchmaking and other initiatives to enhance cooperation, connectivity and development in the region.
The conference will be held in hybrid format, with both physical and virtual participation options, to facilitate wider participation from around the world.
