COP29 aims for limiting global warming as close as possible to 1.5°C.
COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan
Islamabad: COP, stands for Conference of Parties, it is the series of formal meetings Conference of Parties, where governments assess global efforts to advance the key Paris Agreement aim of limiting global warming as close as possible to 1.5°C.
At COPs, global leaders come together to identify, measure progress and negotiate the best ways to address climate change crisis the world is facing.
Some 198 Parties (197 countries plus the European Union) have signed to the Convention, and are constituting near universal membership.
COP29 will take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, in November 2024.
COP28 was held in 2023 in UAE.
COP27 was took place on 6 November until 20 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
