Lahore: Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) will hold the 19th International Cholistan Desert Rally 2024 from 23-25 February 2024, in the heart of Cholistan desert covering three districts of Punjab, including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur of Pakistan.

Start Your Engines – Gear up for Cholistan Challenge

Cholistan Desert Rally started back in 2005 and has grown in leaps and bounds. The upcoming rally will mark this event’s 15th edition which reflects its ever-increasing popularity. The event portrays a positive and soft image of Pakistan abroad and highlights the real beauty of south Punjab’s landscape. Besides promoting tourism, such events also enhance the livelihood of the locals.

The prime objective to hold this event in the heart of Cholistan desert is to show the world its history and rich culture and to open this gateway as a winter tourist destination.

This rally covers three districts of Punjab, including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur. It  is categorized into three different categories i-e Stock, Prepared and Women. Stock and Prepared categories are further divided into 4 sub-categories (A, B, C, D).

”The event shall be held on Feb 06 – 12, 2023 in the majestic desert of Cholistan. More than 100 racers from all over Pakistan will challenge the sand of the Cholistan in different categories. The Rally route has been extended to 500 kilometres in the Cholistan Desert and also includes major forts of the desert (Dingarh Fort, Marrot Fort, Khan Garh Fort, Bhijnot Fort, Moujgarh Fort and Jamgarh Fort).

Venue: Cholistan Desert

TDCP Desert Rally covers two districts i.e. Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar. The complete route distance of the rally is around 500 km.The Rally Starting Point is Cholistan Desert near Derawar Fort.

Event Venue: Derawar Fort (Cholistan) 

The event venue is Derawar Fort (Cholistan) located approximately 95 km south of the city of Bahawalpur, the forty bastions of Derawar are visible for many miles in the Cholistan Desert. Coming from Bahawalpur, get on the GT Road towards Karachi and take the left turn from Ahmedpur East Bypass to Dera Nawab Cantt. Before entering Dera Nawab Cantt, first take left turn followed by right. The distance has been reduced as Multan motorway is now open for public facilitation.
